Masters of Arts in Band Studies

In the summer of 2023 I started my persuit of a Masters of Arts in Band Studies from Sam Houston State University. The program consists of two-week intensives over the course of three summers. During these summer intensives you attend the "Teaching the Middle School Band" workshop at Sam Houston State University and "The Art of Teaching Music" workshop at Southern Methodist University, along with completing various other assignments. Between the summer sessions students work on projects that are designed around their own programs.

Score Studies

Each summer we complete a score study on a piece of our choosing.

Lesson Framework

The first summer begins a project that spans the next year where you develop and implement a Framework for lesson plans.
